Anorexia In The Elderly

Anorexia In The ElderlyDoes my son have anorexia?

My son (23) is very thin for her height and body. He is 6 feet tall and I think he's anorexic tendencies. Other family members are shocked by his appearance and he wears a beard that accentuates more. I base my suspicions on a number of things. The first is that even if a young child, he was on the harsh side, but still bigger than most boys. As he grew up, he cleared, but sometimes he said things like "I'm fat" and enter the skin around his stomach between his fingers. I told him he was not fat and everyone is made differently. I also told him that if he wanted to build healthy muscle using light weights and weight to them as his strength builds. He was not very interested in what I did not push the idea. He was always active leads bikes and loved skateboarding. He was never a big eater and although it does not bother me so much, what is that I do could not make him eat fruits or vegetables unless I hide them in food or pleaded with him to eat. During a summer at the age of 16, he put on a lot of weight junking and sit in front of PC. It is clear to me because I left for about six weeks to care for an elderly family member in another state and when I came back he looked bad enough, not only the weight, but he looked pale and puffy. I was a little shocked because it was not a big eater of junk food is. In fact, the food seemed to interest that much and much to my disappointment I could hardly make him try new recipes. When he returned to school, I think some comments were made about her weight gain and lost over time If I do not see how any type of diet noticeable but it does say he tried to cut the junk food. I sometimes wondered if he had any intestinal problems. For example. if it was breakfast, lunch or dinner, he may take 2 to 3 bites a meal and the type of grab his stomach and groan and say, "My stomach hurts and he could not eat . He also said his stomach hurt to get up every morning while getting ready for school. I thought maybe he had a lot of social anxiety and it affected his appetite, or is it too stressful for him to eat, but it lasted all the time and I knew he had many friends. But there were many outstanding problems, it was in trouble at school and his general behavior at home been very difficult to handle. He left at 18 and his weight was about normal, but looked unhealthy and I think he did a lot of drinking and smoking MJ. Then around age 19, he began look slimmer and each year thereafter, it progressively got thinner. He rides his bike long distances in the mountains with friends and he always complains of his stomach bothering him when we meet for dinner. At first I thought the As part of its weight loss because he was himself and could not afford to eat better. During those years, I gave him extra money for food, gas, whatever .. . but it became obvious that something is very wrong with how he views. I do not think of speed and asked him right at this topic more than a couple of times. Not that I spend a lot of time with him but his behavior is that of a crack head - although its behavior in general has always been a challenge in other ways. I do not think binge, purge, I just think it limits her food and exercise too. Finally, I have always struggled with my own body image problems and struggled with bulimia and weight of most of my life. But when I was 18-21, I was anorexic tendencies when I restrict calories and exercise too much. I was very thin. Then I went in the opposite direction after pregnant. Although my son n has never seen my fights before, he knows how food issues have affected my life. I am very scared for my son. Although I & # 0.
