Anorexia People

Anorexia PeopleWhy is it that when people think eating disorder, they mostly think anorexia or bulimia?

I see an address anorexia and bulimia but many people do not binge eating disorder seriously. To me, it is still (and I have suffered from these three). It has more to do with dissatisfaction with oneself and an abuse of your body and / or food to deal with this feeling. So why some eating disorders more attention than others?

I totally see what youre saying because I am often asked the same thing. the opinion of my, I think it's because you said exactly what obesity is prevelent and seen so much of what people think jusat "Oh theyre fat." Personally, I was taken from anorexia and bulimia for the last 6 years (im 19 Now) and its been hell. as a matter of fact, last year when I was admitted to a hospital ED, they had 20 paitents both and all of us, there was an older man (early 40's) with binge bulimic. If you see a heavy person walking down the street, most people, unfortunately, just think "fatass." whereas if you see someone walking down the street whos skin and bones, youre the reaction is a little nicer. PPL DONT give some sh * t either because they think oh they are there. I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy ED because it is a loss lose situation. I relapsed 2 days after I was released ... two days! thats a shame. Another prblem I did not say anything I was doing my psychologist. Then turn, there was nothing he could do either. I introduced myself, put on a happy face, and left ... i Apoligize to chat, but that's what I feel about the issue while eating disorder.

Anorexia and bulimia, believe it or not, have only recently been recognized - and certainly in the last 30 years. Before that, they are virtually unknown, so eating disorders are more recent to the medical profession are still "soaking in" society, and gradually they will be accepted too. I am in the middle of a research project on just that.

Binge eating disorder is by no means on his own initiative either. There are also compulsive overeating and EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified) are both listed as "official" eating disorders in both DSM IV and ICD 10.

I could become very technical and also that there is more of a sort of anorexia and bulimia too - and not purging purging types, types restrictive - it goes on and on. Nothing in the world ED is also easily classified as simply "anorexia" or "bulimia".

I think they're going with those that affect the majority of people, rather its right or wrong is another matter. Plus many people associate with binge eating and bulimia.

They are most common.
