Autism Heroes

Autism HeroesOpening line for a speech at the annual meeting of autism?

Our Autism Society is having its annual meeting. I present an award and the first line of my speech is "As a parent I am always uncomfortable when people start throwing around words like" hero "and" holy "because it usually means that they are not planning to help. "

Is it himself, or does it need explanation?

(If people think you are heroic, they think you do things they would not be able to do, so they do not want you to ask them for help. People with autism can sometimes be a little high maintenent)
.

I think its great! Very well written!

I do not know, I start with the negative. How about a little joke, or something affecting perhaps as aa few lines of a picture book, the beloved story or a quote? Maybe talk about different people who are considered heroes, or show pictures of people you think are heroes and why? Compare and a super-hero (as WonderWoman) to the person you honor or a parent of a child with ASD, and do a humorous way.

Good luck!
