Causes Of Epilepsy

Causes Of EpilepsyWhat causes epilepsy in humans?

Is there a remedy that is natural? I know there are drugs, but are there other ways to control epilepsy?

Hah, wish I could answer that first question for you. Epilepsy can be caused by a head injury, some genetic diseases, tumors, high fevers, and some other medical conditions. About 70% of the time you although there is simply no answer and no real reason.

There is no natural remedy, but in some cases (especially when he starts at a young age) the person grows out of it all in their mid to late teens. This is probably due to hormones and those during puberty.

Drugs are the usual treatment, but skiping it. . . surgery can help resolve or even epilepsy. It is performed only in cases where medicine has failed, the person has frequent (several per week) and crises, they can see exactly where crises occur, and they do not think they will do damage normal brain functions. Basically most people are not even considered for it.

The plan you think is probably the ketogenic diet. It is rich in fat and low carbohydrate diets like the Atkin, but more stringent. It is generally used only in children who have not responded to medication. Depending on where you look, either do not work in adults, or they are just more difficult to cope with the restrictions.

The first link has general information, the second is for food.

Epilepsy is the result of abnormal electrical activity from the brain. Brain cells communicate by sending electrical signals in an ordered model. In epilepsy these electrical signals become abnormal, leading to an "electrical storm" that produces seizures. These storms can be in a specific part of the brain or be widespread, according to the type of epilepsy

Nobody knows exactly what causes a person with epilepsy. They just know that people from these experiences "storm" in the brain. Certainly there are natural ways to help, but "cure" is a hard word to apply to epilepsy, because there is always a chance of having convulsions, or even years after the last. I'm studying for a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine and I know that acupuncture and herbal medicine in the clinic at my school to treat epilepsy. There are some interesting studies on this subject, too. I put in some links and one of these has a list of books that you may be interested in your departure.
