Cell Phone Headphones

I have a cell phone was recently purchased a micro SD card and put music on it
Helmet cell phone was 2.5 mm if I had an adapter from 2.5 to 3.5mm at Radio Shack
play my music, but not out right
I understand different things out of each speaker headphones, at least for most songs (Purple Haze plays perfect a˜º)
and I seem not to receive one of two halves

Is there any way to fix this?
