Certified Deaf Interpreter

Certified Deaf InterpreterDoes Idaho need an interpreter for the deaf to be licensed or certified to practice?

I do not know and did an audit on the net and can not find the answer.

There is an interpreter referral service in Idaho which may be able to help answer your question. I found their e-mail through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) website. Here is their e-mail:

nis@aslnis.com

Hope that helps! Good luck!

Yes, each state requires that you be certified to work as an interpreter. You can probably find a job without being certified, but it goes against ethics because you have not proved that you know the company.
