What should be the normal level of cholesterol without fasting? I am 37 years male, two days I did my test cholesterol fasting test was taken without fasting. The result shows that - Total Cholestorl 221
LDL Cholestrol 145.8
I know it must be taken an overnight fast, the doctor told me it's normal, is this normal? What foods to avoid to reduce the level of LDL cholesterol? which should be given cholesterol test without fasting?
ideal cholesterol: less than 200 mg / dL
cholesterol Borderline: 200-240 mg / dL
high cholesterol: greater than 240 mg / dL
You must first fast of at least 12-14 hours before the test .... then your value is normal .... but I recommend doing anther test while you are fasting ...
There is no beach in fasting cholesterol, no .. I mean if you have high-fat meal ... is different from that meal with less fat.
About the food that decrease LDL:
You do not need to reduce your intake of food (unless you are overweight) in the diet to lower cholesterol, all you have to do is replace some of the healthiest foods.
Our body produces too much cholesterol when we eat too much saturated fat in our diet. Saturated fat is the type of fat in animal-based foods such as meat and dairy products.
We also obtain cholesterol directly from animal-based foods in our diet such as meat, eggs and dairy products. Plant foods like fruits, vegetables and cereals do not contain cholesterol. Because of the high saturated fat content of food average, more than half of U.S. adults have blood cholesterol levels too high.
You can read this article and news about the diet to reduce cholesterol: http://cholesterolbasics.info/diet_for_l ...
ideal cholesterol: less than 200 mg / dL
cholesterol Borderline: 200-240 mg / dL
high cholesterol: greater than 240 mg / dL
Saturated fats contribute to the elevation of LDL.
Reduce your consumption of animal products such as fat, butter and egg yolk. animal products derived from plants with others. For example, use olive oil.
