Hello. Yes, there are alternatives, and some mentioned by others here. I guess the first question is why for you? Is it the expense? The possible side effects? real side effects? Interest in alternatives?

Increasing the amount of dietary fiber in the diet has been shown repeatedly in clinical trials to help reduce cholesterol (it can lower the bad and in many cases increase the good cholesterol). According to the National Institutes of Health's National Cholesterol Education Program dietary changes are supposed to be the first line of treatment for high cholesterol. They recommend the addition of dietary fiber and plant sterols that mimic cholesterol in the body to get it first. I've never seen this happen in the hospital with the doctors I work with. I've had one of them to refer a patient for me, but only after the patient could not tolerate statins. The typical fiber that can be purchased at Walmart is basically powdered pot and will not do much for cholesterol.

I hope this helps a little. Jeff the nurse in Nashville

Dramatic results only eat eggs. If a person who was less than three months. check cholesterol levels .. had no results .. when he appeared for the next three months. check, after receiving the notice, it was considered normal .. This occurs in 2 of 3 people. The third just have no change. It was also said to stop eating white bread so ... bloat down.
