Dog Convulsions My dog has seizures when she sleeps. Is this a sign of something more serious? A pitbull female about a year and when she sleeps her legs as if she flinch as having spasms or something like that. I've never had a pitbull so I do not know if this is common. She seems in good health other than that. In fact, she does not have seizures. She dreams. All dogs do. It is normal. Hi Brian! She is not having seizures! She just dreaming! When dogs dream, their legs will shake, they move their legs as they run after something, they bark, they whine, etc. .. It is perfectly normal and nothing to fear! She dreams. Do not worry. The dogs present during REM sleep. Think of it like chasing rabbits in their sleep. Mine do this all the time. These are not seizures. They are "puppy dreams". I had a Great Dane "involved" in his sleep. It was really cool because each foot to move as if she was in a full gallop chasing a rabbit or something . It would also shake his face. This is normal;) My pits also do and it seems they are dreaming. I guess they dream of running or chasing something. Sometimes they even make sounds too much barking. :) As everyone has said ... She dreams. She dreams, theres nothing to fear, most dogs do. It is common for most dogs, they dream. Shes dreaming:) No joke. she is dreaming, do not worry! :) my dog did that, im pretty sure shes just a weird dream or something. I doubt its anything to worry Posted on March 8, 2010.
