Epilepsy is genetic, and what are signs.? My father's son has epilepsy, I wonder if anyone knows whether epilepsy is genetic, and if so, are there any signs of epilepsy. My son is only 3 years and Im just cause. Thank you. Renee-

If you have not yet discovered this type of epilepsy the father of your son has done. Next, find the type of your son a. If necessary, go to a epileptologist, a neurologist specializing in epilepsy. If you can find a pediatric epileptologist, fine.
What signs are there? It varies depending on the type of seizure, epilepsy in question. Atonic seizures are examples where the person loses all muscle control completely, and fell on the floor. Tonic-clonic, those who tend to scare everyone, are a little more ......... dramatic. Absence seizures may look as if the child is daydreaming.

Epilepsy can be genetic! It depends on the person and, if they have the type of epilepsy is genetic! I have epilepsy and genetic isn't mine as far as I know ... nobody in my family, it has! There is no way to know if your child has epilepsy it unless you have specifically tested ... I do not want to scare you, but sometimes the epilepsy does not appear until you are older ... For my part, didn't have a seizure until I was 10 ... and I've only had 3 in my whole life (im 18) If you are worried see a Docter family and ask to be referred to a nerologist ... But I think you should just wait and see if there is a crisis. They can not really diagnose it if it has not had a moment because he can not be at that stage yet ... So in other words you can try, nothing is found, then a few years later he has a crisis BOOM! Make sure you know what to do if this happens and make sure you tell your docter that his father suffer from epilepsy.
