Gastric Bypass And Pregnancy

I had gastric bypass 4 years ago, and now I am 14 weeks pregnant. Im taking all the vitamins and being careful how I eat. I had the glucose tolerance test (1 h) and the limit was 135, I scored 135. The OBGYN ordered a test of 3 h with the glucose load of 100 and I thought I would die of dumping syndrome has been so bad. But of course I failed the first time and following hours have been very good. I'm now supposed to be on a special diet for diabetes, control my blood sugar four times a day and during the test ketone every morning with my urine. The scheme has six servings of starches per day. Im not supposed to eat this amount of carbohydrate with gastric bypass, I'm supposed to focus on the first protein. Ive done some research and G. Bypass patients arent even supposed to get tested for blood sugar, because it can make them sick.

My doctor seems to miss the fact that I had this and it changes me. I remind him often. If I seek a specialist? Change doctors? Anyone go through this?

My stomach and asked my surgeon about it. They should not do a glucose test ... they need to do a blood test using a test strip diabetes ... Talk to your OB / GYN and your weight loss surgeon.

My OB / GYN actually closed my gastric bypass and okyed the glucose test because I am pregnant with my son about a year after my surgery. I also have mine. Just eat the way you need. I had no problems dumping during my pregnancy because I eat little of what I had problems with. I could not drink milk so I had no sugar added yogurt, cheese, and I took calcium supplements (Viactive). You must keep an eye on your blood sugar. I still have problems with mine and they bounced and caused placental abruption at 29 weeks. My son is fine now though. It is active, healthy and 3 1 / 2 years.
