Geriatric Fitness

I have a friend who wishes to increase his level of fitness and decided to take the fences. However, because he was 57, he looked down and treated like a geriatric. Shame Club divert people who are sincerely interested in a sport and look no further than their age, and not what they actually do. It's a shame he turned to his age. I fence on the west coast of the United States, and since the fencing scene is not very competitive there, we people of all ages fences together.
