Is Cerebral Palsy Hereditary

Is Cerebral Palsy HereditaryIs this a form of cerebral palsy hereditary?

I am 26 years old with cerebral palsy, when I was 5 years old and attending a special school, there were two brothers with the same condition so I was wondering weather a hereditary form of cerebral palsy is and how her child transmitted to those

No, it is not hereditary. If the brothers were twins, so it is possible since the twins are often premature, which can cause brain damage. Or, if they really had some other condition that others were simply misdiagnosed PC. My daughter thought to have CP, but turned out to be something else that is genetic.

Initially cerebral palsy was thought to be related to trauma and strangulation during birth (birth asphyxia), which leads to a lack of oxygen to the brain), but in a study of 45,000 births it been shown that birth asphyxia is an uncommon cause of cerebral palsy. (MedlinePlus)
Cerebral palsy can occur during pregnancy (75 percent), during childbirth (about 5 percent) or after birth (about 15 per cent). Eighty percent of causes are unknown, because the small number where cause is known this can include infection, malnutrition, and / or significant head trauma in infancy. (Wikipedia)

not cerebral palsy is not hereditary. There are so many reasons that can cause cerebral palsy.

I am not a doctor. I have CP too, though, and work with others who do too. CP is not hereditary. There are genetic diseases that cause disabilities that mimic CP. But CP is caused by one of two things: brain damage or sheaths of the nerves of the body does not develop properly because of a premature birth. The second reason has been discovered (by the nurse well-being at my desk), so I do not know how much information you find on it.

If you are willing to have a baby, you may want to get tested to see if what you have is a matter of genetic and non-real PC. It is a very rare condition, so I would not worry too much about this. But I understand the concern because I am terrified that my child CPR. But I have friends with children who have CP quite normal. You better be talking to a neurologist. He or she would probably be able to give you more information.

I hope it helped.
