Lupus Rheumatoid Arthritis

Lupus Rheumatoid ArthritisLupus erythematosus or rheumatoid arthritis?

My symptoms are extremely painful to walk, rash, blood in the urine, anemia (had to get infusions of iron), headache, extreme fatigue, etc.. I saw a doctor who did x-rays, blood tests and a physical examination. She recently called me and told me my lab results came back and said, I do not have lupus erythematosus or rheumatoid arthritis. She said that my blood work showed many anomalies and even infection. She wanted me to start on a good distance steroids. She put me on (10 mg prednisone tablets) for 10 days until my follow up with a rheumatologist. Well my question: What is lupus and rheumatoid arthritis?
Are these 2 diseases simular? She will remember in five days with the results of other tests. Has anyone experienced this personally? She said that my disease is treatable but not cureable. I'm still quite young and it was a shock for me and I'm having trouble processing not knowing what I'm dealing with I think my new doctor will be able to answer many questions later.

Lupus and RA are autoimmune disease is when your immune system attacks the cells of your own.
These two diseases overlap in some people, do not focus so much on an absolute diagnosis.

I'm sorry you have this problem. It sucks. Try to take steroids as little as possible because, even if it can help you feel better, it has many side effects over time.

Returning to your symptoms, it seems that you have something else happens too. Doctors do not know what causes the onset or autoimmune diseases. It may be stress, exposure to chemicals, food or more often, something that can never be identified.
Make sure you get a good sleep. Have a super healthy diet with lots of vegetables and fruits.

My mother had rheumatoid arthritis. I have friends with lupus and related diseases. Do not lose hope. There are so many advances in the treatment of these diseases.
