Lupus Virus

Lupus VirusCan lupus be just a virus that is curable?

When I was 18 I tested positive to all municipalities in lupus my body was stiff and swollen. For two years I struggled with pain and disease. After two years I felt better and my lupus test came back negative. I'm 32 now and have not seen any as I did when I was 18. Is it possible that lupus is gone? Am I clear? I still have pain but just thought I'm getting older and my work is very physical.

Hello

Lupus is currently no cure once you have it, you have it. Lupus can fluctuate - when it is active it is called a rocket when it is inactive is in remission, but never disappears. You need to be monitored on a regular basis (at least once a year) by a specialist, even when the lupus is inactive (in remission).

You do not say if you follow a treatment, doctors will usually first try antimalarials are cons which calms the immune system and relieve many aches and pains and fatigue.

Often the first sign of lupus is the worst - mine certainly never been as bad as when it first launched. I am now well and my blood tests may come back negative when the lupus is inactive (that is sneaky that way). But I still see a rheumatologist each year to ensure that everything is ok. If you do not see someone I strongly suggest you do as lupus can turn on you very quickly.

At 32 you should not feel pain, you are still very young so I think they are your lupus - new medicine can often help to relieve these.

Please go see a doctor (preferably a rheumatologist) and advice. We also have an online nurse who can answer questions for you. Ignoring lupus is very unwise.

There is no cure. Have you been well informed about lupus? There are ups rounding which can occur at any time. It could be worse, and now he is better, but it may get worse.

In addition, they may have confused you. It may have been completely different.

But perhaps it does heal.

No this is not a virus, it is an autoimmune disease. Are you sure you originally tested positive for it?

My daughter has lupus and she has participated in a research study of adolescents. They do not tell us what they wanted at the time but the results were published a year later. They were in search of Epstein-Barr virus in the blood taken from each person. All but one person on more than 160 in three different states have tested positive for the Epstein-Barr virus. I read that researchers believe could be a genetic predisposition to Lupus and perhaps a virus such as Epstein-Barr virus may trigger the gene to turn on. Epstein-Barr is the virus that causes mononucleosis and has been linked to outbreaks of chronic fatigue syndrome. I think there are other factors involved in delivery, as a break from stress, good nutrition (it helped my daughter) and does not receive sunlight.

No. Lupus is not caused by a virus. It is an autoimmune disease. It is caused by your own body attacking itself. Auto immune disease may go into remission. But this is not a cure. Only surrender. He may return at any time. Lupus usually does. This is called a rocket "when he returns.

Is there a chance that you do not really have lupus? You should ask your doctor what you have been tested for, because there is no definitive single test for lupus.

There is no definitive test lupus, but a battery of tests for which your doctor will assign a diagnosis of lupus if you meet the criteria. You probably have a positive ANA, Sed Rate, and the test anti-DNA, and your physical presentation has been given a diagnosis of lupus. H.
