Melanoma Vaccine

Melanoma VaccineA new vaccine for Canine Melanoma?

My beloved Great Pyrenees was just diagnosed with melanoma subungual neural crest. I did some research and told my vet about a new vaccine that Merrill has been given conditional approval from the FDA. My dog goes in Thursday for the amputation of the second bone of her fingers and pink. Then we will be subjected to a veterinary oncologist, and, hopefully, the vaccine.

My question is has anyone had experience with this vaccine? It is supposed to prolong their life / remission. How is it administered? I read somewhere that it is deep tissue injection? How often is it administered? Cost?

etc. etc. Anything anyone can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

My sympathy for your pyr. You did not say how old he is.

All the questions you asked for things that it is the responsibility of your veterinarian to tell you that these responses. This is part of the service you have already paid for it.

Meanwhile, reading on the websites below.

I have not heard of this new vaccine.

I hope the surgery and treatments are going well.
