Could I get into NYU? I have been in regular classes the first two years and I'm in college preparatory classes at this moment in my school. I'm taking honors courses after the first half of this year and have all the honors and AP classes senior year. NYU School is No. 1 on my list, you have no idea how much I want to go. They have a lot of majors that are not offered at many schools. Anyway, here's what I want to do this year:
Shadow 10 different doctors (I want to be a doctor)
I have over 100 + hours of community service only from the summer. I'm going to volunteer for retraining, two hospitals and perhaps hospice.
I also want to work with the National Society of Down Syndrome, Epilepsy Foundation, and two other associations.
Besides that I also do research at a hospital I volunteer at.
I'll take the PSAT, SAT and ACT this year and will probably score around 2200 because I studied bigtime and have been very high score on practice tests.
In addition to this I had right of A in regular classes last year and will take 4-6 college classes at a community college in the second half of this year.
Is it good sound? Basically, I messed up the first half of the HS but I'm very good at the moment and will continue until I graduated in 2010. Do you think if I continue on this path for the next two years I'll have a good shot at NYU?
Oh, and I take 10 AP classes and independent study classes CLEP on mine. Yeah, and I have not burned. I am very determined to make this school. What do you think?
Well, it's sorta hard to say without knowing the overall average. You mention that you have taken college preparatory courses, but there is no way I can take the way you did in class without an overall average.
