People suffering from eating disorders - In what ways and why they suffer? People with eating disorders suffer in many ways: physically, mentally and emotionally. Let every sense of pain separately.
Mentally they experience feelings of fear, inadequacy, and reduced ability to concentrate. All these studies involve the patient, work and relationships. In severe cases with even leave their jobs or studies because of their inability to cope with daily stress. Their coping strategies are limited to food. They have to binge or starve themselves to cope even with a bit of stress.
So you can see that the mental part of the pain decreases significantly the quality of life of the anorexic-bulimic.
Emotionally all directions in the normal way, although anorexics sometimes feel high at the beginning of the disease. The only satisfaction and happiness they have forged from food (or should I say abuse of food: binging, purging or starving themselves.)
People with bulimia are eating disorders food while dreaming awake or asleep. They dream of what they like to eat, what they will prepare their next cooked. They then pass through the entire next day to prepare for a binge.
You may ask: "How do they feel if they do not abuse their regular food?" The answer is: "They feel like an alcoholic who has nothing to drink or a drug addict who don ' has no access to drugs. They feel weak and nauseous, they feel they must binge and purge at any price, they can not concentrate on anything, except food. "
Anorexics on foods other hand the fear and collect the food as harmful and dangerous. They believe that a single bite of food will put on a tremendous amount of weight. And if they have a little food they have to work all that more exercise, enemas, laxatives or vomiting.
People with eating disorders are normally withdrawn and hide their feelings. Instead of identifying, recognizing and dealing with their emotions, they blame themselves, feel guilty and anxious. They often compare themselves with others and are still below those of men. They always think that others are better then.
These thoughts produce guilt and shame in their souls even more which then makes them turn to food abuse again and again.
Bulimia and purging seems to be cathartic as it stimulates the reward centers in the brain special. These cause a false and temporary relief to their state of mind. Very quickly, they get addicted to these feelings of relief and fake like alcoholics or drug addicts hooked on the feelings binging gives.
Anorexics get similar feelings, but in relation to themselves die of hunger. They get strange feelings of satisfaction by famine.
The physical suffering includes constipation, increased susceptibility to infections, stomach aches, headaches, nausea, anemia, kidney damage, the pulse very low, cardiovascular disorders and fragile bones due low bone calcium.
Continued vomiting can cause erosion of tooth enamel and teeth to corrode and chips. The throat normally gets very painful and salivary glands may increase the size making patients face puffy and swollen.
The most serious consequence of having an eating disorder is cardiac complications because it can cause sudden death, even during sleep of a person. This occurs because of extremely low levels of minerals (especially potassium) due to vomiting or starvation.
The heart must have potassium and other minerals to function properly and stay strong. If there is an extreme shortage of potassium, the heart of man simply stops working.
To conclude, it is important to understand that vomiting and starvation.
