Prometh With Codeine

Prometh With CodeinePrometh Mix / codeine with simvastatin and Ticor?

Promethazine is an antihistamine that is used as an anti-emetic (nausea cons). Codeine is a derivative of opiates used for pain or to suppress a cough. Simvastatin is a 3H3MG co-enzyme A reductase, which partially blocks the rate limiting step in the conversion of sterol mevolanate whose cholesterol. Drugs in this class all ends with "statins" so they are called "statins". Statins are used for LDL cholesterol. Fenofibrate (Tricor) is a fibric acid derivative that is used to reduce triglycerides (fats in the blood literally). There were no adverse drug interactions in the combination of these four drugs. Some doctors are cautious about combining statins and fibrates, as each class of drugs may lead to a very rare but potentially deadly known as rhabdomyolysis. Since cardiovascular disease is common in patients with elevated LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides - and from rhabdomyolysis is very rare - the advantage of reducing your LDL and triglyceride levels far exceed the potential risks. I monitor my patients by measuring creatine kinase every six months. This is a first indication of muscle injury. In medical trials, even if participants CK levels have been ten times the upper limit of normal, they were kept in the trial. In my practice, is a person is symptomatic - such as muscle aches and pains - or if the CK reached three times the upper limit of normal - then I will reconsider my choice of drugs. As mentioned earlier the four of these medications can be taken together, without the side effects expected - with the exception of side effects that each drug could produce itself. For example Promethazine may cause sedation and dry mouth and codeine can cause sedation and constipation. Simvastatin has few side effects and side effects of fenofibrate are usually gastrointestinal - but again the incidence of side effects is low.
