Secondary Generalized Seizures

I was on medical therapy for almost 2 years and so far does not work. My neurologist told me about this last visit of VNS. Anyone who helps ease my mind on the goods and / or sore PLEASE? My seizures are complex \ partial secondarily generalized.

Yes, I had the implant. And yes, it works wonders on me. I have gran mal and the petit-mal seizures. I was about 20 drugs since I was 6 years. Before I had surgery I was on 5 medications. Now I'm on 3.
The advantages are that you really notice a decrease in seizures as long as you take your medications proplerly.
The disadvantages are the feeling you get in your throat when the stimulator off. It's quite annoying. But you get used to. The other is the battery. It is more cosmetic than anything else. Basically, it goes beyond just out of your chest.
But the key is for you to realize what is most important. A little discomfort in exchange for the possibility of being seizure free.

VNS is supposedly very good job for depression .. I've never heard of working for seizures, but ur doc know more than we do .. I want to look for when I just assume it's the best .. VNS is still a procedure such as surgery and u want to be sure u know what to do
