My husband had stents placed in arteries in the groin twice. and stents are still bad, why? stents does not work on blocked arteries?
First, there are different types of stents. Some last longer than others, but all will eventually hang again. Stents and balloons do nothing to correct the underlying disease of atherosclerosis, which is an inflammatory process. They simply buy time. Depending on where the arterial blockages are, your husband may be put in place the possibility of referral to a cardiovascular surgeon for a bypass, provided of course that changes in diet / exercise medicine / also failed.
