TheravitaeDeath sentence for man Australian buy-out stem cells

BANGKOK, Thailand January 9, 2007 - Peter Irwin of Surfers Paradise in Australia is the picture of health. He and his Thai partner are in Bangkok for a check-up and a relaxing holiday and his pregnant partner to visit his family. It sounds both positive and optimistic as he tells his dramatic story.

After a story twenty years of admissions to intensive care wards I was finally informed that, at age 55 I had a dilated cardiomyopathy with ischemic heart disease. They gave me a chance of fifty to sixty per cent of last ten years, he said. Then, my condition became worse. Two years ago, after an angiogram that had to be stopped due to severe chest pain, said there was nothing that could be done for me. The odds down to a fifty percent chance of living two years. The cardiologist, almost in passing, said that my only hope lies in stem cell therapy, but he knew little about it. I contacted the St. Vincent Hospital in Sydney, which were a group of clinical experiments, but I fell out of their entry criteria because they were only the treatment of arterial diseases.

Rather than accept his future Peter has taken action and did an Internet search for any help he could find. He discovered a Thai-Israeli company called Theravitae who cared for patients with terminal heart in Bangkok with a surprising amount of success and have contacted. I sent and also spoke with their staff, who were constantly sick with my many questions. I also talked with several local Australian cardiologists who were mostly negative, but who knew little about cell therapy for failing heart, but what have I to lose? So I went ahead and on October 4, 2005, I had my blood withdrawn 250cc which was conducted in the laboratory. Five days later I had the blood, now strongly enriched with millions more stem cells injected by catheter into damaged heart and my struggling. This simple and safe procedure took place at Bangkok Heart Hospital.

I was very impressed by the hospital staff and facilities and the very high level of professionalism they all showed. For three months nothing seemed to be the case, but an MRI at four months showed my ejection fraction (a measure of heart pumping efficiency) has risen 50 percent. In six months, I felt much better and I continued to improve. My whole life has changed and, despite having to face many problems my personal attitude and outlook is very positive. I now have a purpose for life that I lost because of my health problems, so I am very grateful, "he said.

Not content simply to have stem cell therapy Peter has also made changes to his diet, lifestyle and attitude to gain the maximum benefit from medical treatment. It is now a vegetarian, 20kg lighter and eager to become parents again. He believes that all these factors, combined with the work of her salary VesCell stem cells to repair his heart, gave him a new life.

I am deeply in love and had a second chance at life. What more? he said. I just had a complete medical check and all my vital statistics have improved significantly. But for me the biggest improvement was that I could enjoy a much better quality of life and I have great hopes for a very positive future, "he added. If you are without hope of treatment because of heart disease all is not lost. Almost every day research is published that shows just how seriously ill heart patients can be returned to a life they thought they had lost.
