Transcription Mediated Amplification

Transcription Mediated AmplificationSimple tests for gonorrhea

There are only a few types of tests that are used to diagnose infection with gonorrhea. Most tests for gonorrhea require the use of a sample of fluid in the body of the region affected by the infection.

1. Nucleic acid hybridization test:

This analysis is also known as the test DNA probes. In this analysis for gonorrhea, genetic material or DNA of bacteria is gonorrhea identified. The review is done by obtaining samples of body fluids of areas likely to be affected, often in the cervix for women and urethra in men. Accumulated samples from the throat of a patient continues to give accurate results.

  2. Tests for nucleic acid amplification (NAAT):

This test detects and makes multiple copies of the genetic material of the bacterium that causes gonorrhea. These include polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and transcription mediated amplification (TMA). NAAT is a sensitive test for gonorrhea. They can be completed in one or the other by a test body fluid of compromise and can be infected.

3. Gonorrhea culture:

This is not over and completed on a sample of bodily fluid taken from the cervix, urethra, throat, rectum, in the eyes, or any other possibly infected area. The sample is mixed with elements that support the growth of the bacterium gonorrhea. Various other tests for gonorrhea, culture can influence whether gonococci are resistant to antibiotics in particular.

Tests for gonorrhea are made so that health professionals do not know if gonorrhea is the cause of symptoms such as painful urination, itching or bleeding in the anus, vaginal bleeding or unusual vaginal discharge. Because gonorrhea do not always have symptoms, to be completely sure you do not have gonorrhea, you should be sure to get tested every now and then.
