Worried for my daughter jerks during sleep? my daughter is almost 12 months.
Recently, I noticed that his feet and hands shaking a lot during sleep. I'm worried it could be seized.
I asked her doctor once and he said something about separation anxiety, but I do not know if that.
Does this happen to your baby? His mannerisms tiny feet, not their regular tics off chance .. Thank you.
You will not like my answer, but my experience. I have no idea if your daughter does the same thing, you should consult a pediatrician.
My daughter was born June 19, perfectly healthy, normal delivery. When she was six days, she started shaking in his sleep, he usually begins at the left hand and sometimes go to the right hand and legs. It will take approximately 3-20 minutes. My midwife was very concerned about this issue and made an appointment with a pediatrician. He has admitted to the hospital where we spent five days. She was diagnosed with sleep myoclonus Benin neonatal type of crisis. Benign underlying cause mean. She had an ultrasound of the head and an EEG and everything was normal. She was prescribed Phenobarbital to 9 days. We have been referred to a pediatric neurologist who made the diagnosis. The prognosis at this time, it was about 2 months then, is that it would exceed it. She is now 6.5 months and especially it exceeded. She stopped the medication in mid-November. It always moves around in its sleep, but not as bad as she did. It was the repetition, during contractions that the doctor was concerned.
I'm sure your daughter is fine, but definitely get him checked. Bump chance is not the concern that our pediatrician. It's repetitive shock happens for several minutes.
Good luck. E-mail me if you want more info.
edit - mine, it is repetitive, and ongoing and there was a model for him. I think that a pediatrician and a neurologist pediatriac know the difference between REM sleep and seizures. Random twitching more like REM sleep.
Ahh. How long has this been happening? Has it only started doing that recently? Or has it been happening for some time? I know that if you give him mashed banana before going to bed is supposed to calm the children and make them sleep better.
My son has started to move and physically interact with himself in his sleep when he was 11 months. He moves his fingers, rolled and muttered to himself every night. We do not know if it is conscious or not, and I'm not sure what to do about it. He slept in my bed and boyfriends for the last two months or two and it gets really painful. The doctor says it's just a phase and part of its development .. yes. I do not know.
Just to let you know that you're not alone with this. Goodluck.
This is called a myoclonic jerk and happens to almost everyone when they sleep. This is especially a concern and is somewhat larger in your newborn.
She dreams. If she was having seizures, it also awakened them. Find something else to do rather than worrying about little jerks, or you will make yourself and your daughter psychotic.
Everyone even adults shake when they sleep, nothing so there isn't to be alramed about that if his whole body and your daughter is currently peurple not breathing .... but few shocks are beautiful ...
I think she can only dream
All parents should be concerned about something when they first had a baby - it is a natural response to parenting and evolutionary tactic to protect our vulnerable children. When you have your first baby, it is difficult to know what is normal and what is scarce - or unhealthy - behavior.
One thin.
