Uncontrolled Hypertension

My primary care physician and cardiologist are scratching their heads on my condition. My pressure is always around 160/90. They have tried almost every prescription to treat my hypertension. Right now I am on Norvasc Hyzaar, both at the highest dose and my blood pressure has not moved one millibar. I tried looking for information on hypertension uncontrolled on the web but I have found vague answers. Maybe someone knows someone who has this. What have they done about it?

Hyzaar and Norvasc are medications to treat high blood pressure, but I agree, a renal sonogram to rule out renal stenosis (or cysts), would be a good start. You can also make them do blood work to exclude a pheochromocytoma by checking the levels of plasma free Metanephrine, take a sample of 24 hour urine for creatinine, total catecholamines, vanillylmandelic acid and metanephrines.

In addition, you may want to see if doctors add a plug Alpha 2 (like clonidine) to your diet, 3 times a day. This can often be the case.

Hypertension as it is very difficult and stressful. I'm sure you've experienced a lot to cope. I have a little patience, just like you, and it took them to the clonidine, an alpha and sometimes medications (such as Cardura and Hytrin) before I can get them to the target.

PS: There are many reasons for high blood pressure, but supplements of celery will not save you! Anyone here trying to sell Dr. Mercola and his quackery are just idiots. It is less than received by the general medical population. He made his money on the sale of "extras" rather than sound medical advice.

Your problem may be psychological if the medical does not help find a counselor to help you do this, or it may be that you have so much energy that you need to burn the ether or make products with less sugar and products of caffeine!

Have they checked for renal stenosis? (I am a health professional .... but I'd be surprised if they did not check ..... it must be done) It has to do with blood vessels in the kidneys.

I may not have the experience I am given a child, but I urge you to get off the drugs! No magic medicine to solve your problem. In fact, the drug is more likely to worsen. somewhere I remember reading that celery is a food magic blood pressure, so I recommend you eat it. Try reading this:
