Vasculitis Treatment Anybody Out There vasculitis have any kind? What type of treatment have you received? Just curious, how many people have this rare disease and what treatment you have received or are receiving? Have you managed to achieve remission at any time? Did he return? I leukocytoclastic vasculitis involving the skin only, but interested in the response of someone with any type of vasculitis. Did they ever know what he does? Everyone has the info will be appreciated. Thank you I have vasculitis for the last 2-3 years. I think I had an allergic reaction to a medication I was taking. I woke up one morning and began to limp. I went to my doctor and had blood work done and basically it showed a lot of imflamation. I went to a specialist HR and had an MRI and he also sent me to a neurologist. Basically, I was placed on predicting. I still had symptoms, even if my inflammation has been controlled. I stopped seeing him because he wanted to put me on lots of muscle relaxers and I still had pain, but nothing like what I had in the beginning. I can not climb stairs, because it inflames the inflammation in the legs. I have him in my arms. My step-son is in his brain. He has been doing chemo for the last year and a half with prednisone. It's horrible, especially in the brain. See the link below for more information. There are many different types of vasculitis. It is an autoimmune condition (the same as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus) where your own immune system attacks the body as if it were a germ or a foreign object. It is most often treated with steroids to suppress the immune system. In addition to chemotherapy drugs are used in difficult cases. I knew three people suffered from this and all three did go into remission, however, one of those people tend to periodic exacerbations which are required to take steroids (prednisone). You should be seeing a rheumatologist for regular blood and take control of this condition. Good luck! Posted on February 14, 2010.
