Information on DCD, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyslexia, visual perceptual processing .....? I have a child with learning difficulties and those I seek advice and direction on how to help.
I joined a group of defense of the state. He helped me get the school IEP and treatment. There are tons of different ways to treat each item as you mentioned, and you do get confusing. the only thing I can say, you should worry about is that your child goes through the self-esteem with the good. they feel really be different.
also, years ago, PBS did a big show about what it was for a person with dyslexia, etc. .. and it is wonderful to help you understand how they actually see.
We're very good chance now, because there are so many technological tools, we can use it to make them "equal". remember if it was a teacher who said somewhere that something is not "fair" because the other students can not use IE, a word processor or calculator during school ... Is this just does not equal ... and it would be like taking away glasses, crutches or a child who needs them. because the disabled can not be seen, they are constantly having to be advocated for. Oh, and one more thing, if you hit a roadblock with a representative of someone, say you're asking too much ... ask them "if this was your child what would you do?" helps break the psychological subject. very good luck to you.
